New York - East Coast Experience - Day 4 - Part 2

OK now that we were done with the aquarium, we headed over to Coney Island which the Aquarium was
adjacent to...

maybe a 3 minute walk at best.

Here is what we saw... Oh and don't let the sun fool you. It was FREEZING!!!!!!

I liked this tree... lonely tree....

That saddest part was how rundown Coney Island was... lots removed, under construction... not really much to see.

We headed over to Famous Nathans
Hotdogs... it was all boarded up.
We still had hot dogs and funnel cake from another vendor... but it was just not what I expected... but so glad I went....

Crazy it was
one of the top things I wanted to do... We had to go on Sunday as it was only
open on the weekends until the Summer. So it was than or not at all.

I just expected something more grandiose... Just more... now we did not walk all
the way to the end of it and maybe we should have, but there was nothing by what
we could see there... everything was fenced up and empty, broken and torn down.

It was very cold and windy and walking that far and back in the wind was not
appealing.
Had it been warmer we mostly definitely would have explored more...

but there was this small kiddy section open where the Wonder Wheel was and the
Cyclone and this tiny area with booths with games... we did all that.

So yes, I am very glad I went because it was always a dream to go visit Coney
Island...
the art work on the walls was my favorite thing. Oh and my lonely tree on the
beach... he he...

After that we headed back to Manhattan before it got dark... Cody desperately
wanted to go home... he was tired, but I talked him into go going to Time Square
since it was almost night time....

we wanted dinner and were starving.... we figured there had to be places to eat
at Time Square....
he wanted to go see the ESPN Zone... and guess what they had...
yep a restaurant... someone perked up real quick...

well here was our visit to Time Square...

Just to keep in mind. This place was not that big... looks HUGE on TV.

There were 2 of these tall buildings with the ads on them...
one on each end of Time Square... this was one...

this was the other... this one had the famous red stairs below it..

This is MTV...

I stood on the famous island.... both sides... I never knew Time Square was on
Broadway, so all the theatres were here too...

There are no words to explain how magnificent this area was... it was bright and
busy and amazing....
we went into a gift and souvenir store and I bought a jacket because it was so
cold and I was miserable...
I now own a flippin jacket... LOL. Never had a real
jacket in years... I LOVE it...

we were now so tired and finally headed to the subway and went home after this. his.

But wow, what a day we had... WTC, Coney Island and Time Square... pretty
incredible day...
and 2 more to go... we were still excited for everything we
still wanted to do...

stay tuned... can ya stand it???
